PSA Goes Behind the Scenes of a Google Business Shoot
Posted in: News
Most have searched for a location using Google Maps and explored a new destination using Google Street View.
And up until now, we have only been able to view the outsides of buildings. But what if we could take Street View and go inside? Check out a restaurant, salon, retail company, or a financial services provider, before ever actually setting foot inside. Sounds pretty cool, huh?
Google has made all this possible with their recently launched Business Photos by Google. It is now possible to step inside a company and see what lies behind the front doors.
PSA is the first financial services organization in Maryland to participate in this brand new venture. On August 2,2012, Trusted Google photographer, Sue Clark, took a series of images of PSA’s office space that created a 360 degree interactive virtual tour. Using Google’s familiar interface, viewers are able to virtually walk through and look around PSA’s offices as if they are there in person.
It was fascinating watching Sue in action as she mapped out the route around the office and photographed the space with a special panoramic lens. The lens is able to capture floor to ceiling views in one shot. Sue and her husband, Frank, have both been trained and certified by Google’s rigorous photographers’ program. Their work has recently been featured in the Baltimore Sun, The Dispatch and the Odenton-Severn Patch.
Google Business Photos is featured on a company’s Google + page, next to search results and within Google maps. Organizations that participate in Google Business Photos also have the opportunity to embed their virtual tour on their website and share on social media. Click here to check out PSA’s virtual tour.
