PSA was founded in 1928 as a privately held firm owned by a Leadership Team who oversees the day-to-day management and strategic decision-making for the enterprise. With a mission to protect and grow the assets of our clients, PSA is one of the Mid-Atlantic’s leading independent multi-disciplined insurance services firms, specializing in employee benefits brokerage and consulting, human resources consulting, and risk management services and consulting. We service over 950 benefits clients. PSA employs approximately 170 talented industry specialists, nearly half of which support employee benefits and human resources consulting clients.

In 2021, PSA became a member of the Hilb Group, a leading employee benefits and property and casualty insurance brokerage and advisory firm. Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, the Hilb Group has more than 1,700 employees with 100+ locations in 22 states – and service to all 50 states. Through merging with the Hilb Group, we have gained access to the resources of one of the nation’s largest brokers, while also maintaining the same local team and personal relationships clients have come to know and trust.
