Top Workplaces 2013 badge on PSA Insurance and Financial Services' website

Having a healthy, team-centric environment at PSA is key in building a community of positive, energetic professionals who are committed to fulfilling our mission – to grow and protect the assets or our clients. That’s why I’m so excited to share that PSA has been selected as one of The Baltimore Sun Top Workplaces. The full list of the best places to work in the Baltimore metro area can be found here.  The evaluation for the Top Workplaces was based upon feedback from our employees and was conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement.

The criteria for the survey was divided into seven categories:

  • Direction, Execution and Connection assessed the fundamental values, leadership and culture of the company;
  • My Work, My Manager and Pay & Benefits assessed the day-to-day job; and
  • Engagement assessed how employees felt about working at the company overall.

In each of these categories, our employee surveys revealed a multitude of reasons why they love working at PSA — such as leadership transparency, commitment to innovation, generous benefits, flexible work schedule, accessibility to senior management and a healthy team environment. Overall, employees said they felt like their opinions are valued, the work they do is appreciated and their managers put them in situations for success. All feedback we are proud to receive and will work hard to continue while also finding ways to improve and better ourselves as an organization.

PSA’s dedicated Spirit Committee also played a significant role in our positive employee feedback by organizing events throughout the year such as a Chili Cook-off, Summer Picnic, Ravens Celebrations, Fall Potluck, Thanksgiving Luncheon, and a festive Holiday Party. The Spirit Committee was also responsible for coordinating several philanthropic efforts including a management dunking booth at our Summer Picnic to raise money for Meals on Wheels, a canned food drive to support the Community Assistance Network, several clothing drives and adopting local families during the holidays.
